Program Description

During this experiential class, you will learn art techniques and interventions to explore Adlerian play therapy's phases and lifestyle concepts. This fun, engaging, interactive workshop will provide practical strategies you can use immediately with your clients. These techniques will be low-cost and will assist you in gaining insight into your client’s patterns of belief, feelings, and behavior. Please have paper and a variety of art materials on hand during the class. Join us for an exciting day of creativity, fun, and play. Don’t forget your crayons!

Learning Objectives

  1. List and describe four art techniques to utilize throughout the phases of Adlerian play therapy.
  2. List and describe two family art Adlerian play therapy techniques.
  3. Describe two ways to interpret children’s drawings in Adlerian play therapy.

About the Presenter

Kim Feeney is a licensed independent social worker and a registered play therapist supervisor in Davenport, IA. She has over ten years of experience, the last 6 in private practice. As a certified Adlerian play therapist and Internationally Credentialed Sandtray Therapist, Kim works with children and families to determine the purpose of behavior and establish new ways to meet those needs.
