JJ Garcia
Mental Health Therapist
LMSW
I earned my bachelor’s in psychology at the University of Northern Iowa in 2015 and my master’s in social work at the University of Denver in 2025. I have worked in the field of childcare since I was 11 years old and have two decades of experience in caring for children. My mission is to educate children on handling difficult emotions and life stressors in a healthy, functional way that builds their confidence and allows them to live a happy, stable childhood. My preferred treatment model is play therapy. I am happy to take on adult clients as well.
JJ is open to working with clients from all communities we serve in alignment with Heart and Solutions’ Commitment to Inclusion.

JJ is especially passionate about working with the following communities and issues: Blind Allied, Body Positivity, Immigrant Allied, Intersex Allied, Little Person Allied, Racial Justice Allied, Sex Worker Allied

Meet JJ
I have two leopard geckos, JD (female) and Avalanche (male). JD stands for Jane Doe because we don’t know what her previous owners named her. I enjoy horror movies, sudoku, Animal Crossing, and studying German. I’m not fluent in it, but I can understand more than I can speak.
