Program Description

Learning the skill of identifying themes within the play space is essential for understanding the child's world, benefits the clinical relationship with the child, and allows for clearer understanding of what the child may be working through in the therapeutic environment. Thematic considerations and meaningful indicators provide a further in-depth understanding of the play in play therapy. Learning the skills of identifying these themes through non-verbal and toy selection behaviors, with consideration to indicators of meaning will be the focus of this training.

2) Describe how indicators for meaning influence consideration of themes
3) Describe how toy selection guides consideration of themes
