Gilda’s Club

This week Julie and Chrissa are joined by Emma Morgan, Clinical Director at the Heart and Solutions Davenport office and group facilitator for Gilda’s Club Quad Cities. Gilda’s Club offers workshops, professionally-led support groups, healthy lifestyle activities and social events – all provided at no charge – for men, women and children whose lives have been impacted by cancer.

The program is designed to help people with cancer and their friends and family deal with the physical, psychological and emotional challenges of cancer. Emma approaches both roles with a strengths- based lens in order to listen, support and celebrate the strengths and journey of her clients and group participants.

Hello! I am so glad that you are here. If you’re reading this, that means you made the first step (and sometimes the hardest step) to seek out someone to talk to whether it is for yourself or your child. You may need assistance in a variety of things, including life changes, social or school struggles, grief, etc. I am here to help! As a social worker, I serve through an empowerment, strengths based lens. I am here to listen, support, and celebrate your strengths and journey to healing. I work to utilize a trauma-informed approach to create a safe environment for children and their families to feel safe.
