Hello! You have taken a courageous step on the path to healing by seeking out help, whether you are looking for yourself or a loved one. As a therapist, I am here to walk along side you on that journey! My name is Eric Eittreim, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) offering services in the Waterloo area and the rest of the state of Iowa via TeleTherapy. I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Iowa where I worked for over 6 years treating undergraduate and graduate students with many different presenting concerns. I am passionate about helping individuals who are seeking relief, acceptance, meaning, and change in their everyday lives. We will work collaboratively to address challenges, set obtainable goals, and work towards making progress on those goals in and outside of therapy sessions. My therapeutic approach is client centered and aims to provide a safe environment in which clients feel accepted, supported, and encouraged. I utilize techniques mainly from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), but also use existential, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused techniques to accommodate differing needs of each client. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and trauma, but my diverse approach allows me to help clients experiencing a variety of other concerns as well.
