As a BHIS provider with Heart and Solutions, LLC, my mission is to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where children and families feel seen, heard, and valued. I am committed to honoring the diverse identities and experiences of every individual I work with—meeting them with compassion, dignity, and cultural humility. Growing up in a diverse, tight-knit community shaped my belief that every person has the potential to grow when provided support and an opportunity to grow. Through role modeling, encouragement, and hands-on activities like art, games, and service projects, I aim to help individuals build skills that foster resilience, confidence, and lifelong success. My vision is to walk alongside families in their journey toward healing and growth—because with the right tools and support, everyone can thrive.
Como proveedor de BHIS en Heart and Solutions, LLC, mi misión es crear un entorno seguro, comprensivo y empoderador donde los niños y las familias se sientan vistos, escuchados y valorados. Me comprometo a honrar las diversas identidades y experiencias de cada persona con la que trabajo, abordándolas con compasión, dignidad y humildad cultural. Crecer en una comunidad diversa y unida moldeó mi convicción de que cada persona tiene el potencial de crecer cuando se le brinda apoyo y la oportunidad de hacerlo. A través del ejemplo a seguir, el estímulo y actividades prácticas como arte, juegos y proyectos de servicio, busco ayudar a las personas a desarrollar habilidades que fomenten la resiliencia, la confianza y el éxito a lo largo de la vida. Mi visión es acompañar a las familias en su camino hacia la sanación y el crecimiento, porque con las herramientas y el apoyo adecuados, todos podemos prosperar.¡Hola a todos! Me entusiasma unirme al equipo de Servicios de Intervención en Salud Conductual (BHIS), que atiende a jóvenes y familias en el área de Cedar Rapids. Esta oportunidad significa mucho para mí, ya que me permite apoyar a otros de manera significativa a nivel profesional. Me gradué de la Universidad de Iowa en mayo pasado y, como orgullosa latina de primera generación del pequeño pueblo de Storm Lake, Iowa, me apasiona contribuir a las comunidades y generar un cambio positivo. Fuera del trabajo, disfruto expresándome a través de la música y la fotografía, horneando dulces, sumergiéndome en un buen libro y pasando tiempo abrazando a mi perro, Canelo. ¡Estoy increíblemente agradecida por este nuevo capítulo y con ganas de seguir aprendiendo, conectando y marcando la diferencia!

Meet Carlos
Hi everyone! I’m excited to join the Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) team, serving youth and families in the Cedar Rapids area. This opportunity means a lot to me, as it allows me to support others in meaningful ways professionally. I graduated from the University of Iowa last May, and as a proud first-generation Latino from the small town of Storm Lake, Iowa, I’m passionate about giving back to communities and creating positive change.Outside of work, I enjoy expressing myself through music and photography, baking sweet treats, diving into a good book, and spending time cuddling with my dog, Canelo. I’m incredibly grateful for this next chapter and eager to keep learning, connecting, and making a difference along the way!
